My name is Michael Hersh Saltzman, and I was born and grew up in the Capital Region of New York State (Albany, Schenectady and Troy). I have a Bachelor in Arts in Studio Art and Political Science from Binghamton University and Im currently pursuing a Masters in Teaching. I work part time as the in-house artist and webmaster and web-marketing director for Pastime Legends Video Games in Scotia, NY. In the past I was also General Manager of WHRW-FM (Binghamton University’s radio station) for several years and Im still a DJ there.

Summary of my background in art
Painting: In my 4 years at Binghamton University, I painted exclusively in oil paint, and for the most part stayed within the realm of Impressionism (which was just natural for me). Since my undergraduate graduation, I have been exploring more use of acrylics into my painting -- and now paint predominantly in acrylic color. I find inspiration for my paintings in the natural beauty of nature, landscapes and skylines. I mainly focus on color, movement, light and contrast in my pieces. I draw inspiration in this respective from classical era impressionist painters like Monet and Van Gogh.
